The Romantic Music of Chopin

Wednesday, January 22nd, 2014

I hope you will join me THIS SUNDAY, January 26, at 3:00 pm for The Romantic Music of Chopin.

The concert will be in Waetjen Auditorium, located in the Cleveland State University Music and Communication Building, 2001 Euclid Ave. (Located on the corner of Euclid Ave. & East 21st St.) Please use the parking ramp adjacent to the building via East 21st St. and inform the parking attendant that you are here for a CSU performance and receive your parking free.

This is a Jeffrey Siegel “Keyboard Conversations” program and we have arranged for a special ticket price of $10 for friends of Polish Studies.

Following the concert, please take the elevator to the second floor to room MU 232 for a Polish Studies reception with refreshments. Mr. Siegel will be stopping by for a short time to visit with us and talk about Chopin’s piano. A rare opportunity to meet a world-class artist!

What will the program be like? In his trademark “concerts with commentary” format, Jeffrey Siegel provides unique insight into Chopin’s life story and performs a selection of the enthralling, fiery, and poetic works of this beloved Polish composer. The program will include the heroic Polonaise in A-Flat, charming Waltzes, dreamy Nocturnes, virtuoso Etudes, and the tempestuous Scherzo No. 2.

Keyboard Conversations with Jeffrey Siegel are a “concert-plus” that combine the virtuosity and poetry of a world-class pianist with entertaining commentary to create a magical concert experience. His lively, engaging insights and captivating performances make this an enthralling experience for all music lovers. The concert concludes with a fast-paced Q & A.

Tickets are specially priced at $10 per person for this Polish Studies event. Purchase tickets by Friday, January 24 by calling 216-687-5018, Monday – Friday between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. You must indicate you are with Polish Studies for this special ticket price. Tickets also available at the door. Please pay with a credit card over the phone and no children under 8 years old, please.

I recommend you sample a short video of Jeffrey Siegel talking about and playing Chopin’s famous “Polonaise”
